Who pays the platform fees?

These fees are mandatory* to be able to market your property on the various marketplaces (Platforms such as Airbnb, Booking, …). But don’t panic, it doesn’t change a thing for you: just adjust the price (for example, to 20% to make calculations easier):

Situation 1: Price per night: 100€ / → Traveller fee (15%): 15€ / → Owner fee (5%): 5€ / ☞ The owner gets 95€ / ☞ The traveller pays 115€. Situation 2: Price per night: €115 / → Traveler fee (0%): €0 / → Owner fee (20%): €20 / ☞ Owner gets €95 / ☞ Traveler pays €115 The financial impact is nil, unlike the psychological impact: The traveler pays the same but feels like a winner because on most properties, he pays a platform fee.

* This is a commission that the platforms take on bookings. Either you use a single platform and can share these costs with travelers, or you use a channel manager to distribute your property on different platforms, and these costs are borne by the owner.
